The winery and vineyards

Casa Patau is a family winery located in the localitat of Menàrguens, region of La Noguera, between the cities of Lleida and Balaguer. It´s listed in the appellation of origin D.O.Costers del Segre within the subzone of Artesa de Segre.

Since 2001, Casa Patau produces wines from its own vineyards: Les quadres, Cap del terme Comacabassa and, following a traditional winemaking. Currently there are nearly 9 hectares of vineyard planted with the varietades: Macabeo, Grenache noir, Merlot, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon. Soil properties of lime and the continental climate, with a strong sunstroke large thermal contrast, cold winters and hot summers, makes you get a lot of quality wines.

All agricultural practices that are performed in the cultivation of the stocks, respect the environment: do not use herbicides or chemical fertilizers, and to achieve a higher quality grape harvest the best grapes are selected, harvested by hand.

The Cellar has a current capacity of 900 Hl and features a heated room with barrel aging in French and American oak. The winery is open every Sunday from 10am to 14 hours of the morning to sell wine to the public. You can also take a guided tour and a tasting of different wines if requested in advance.
